The previous newsletter explained changes regarding league accounts. USBC has forwarded further guidance regarding league accounts.

Each league will need to obtain their own EIN (Employer Identification Number).  This is required to prevent use of the League Secretary/Treasurer's SSN (Social Security Number) when opening the account.  If a SSN is used instead of a EIN, then the individual must report this account as part of their finances for tax purposes.  Obtaining a EIN and using it to open the account is the only way to prevent tax reporting of the account.

Use the IRS EIN link to access the IRS website and complete the EIN process.
